THE POSITION

The Asia Finance Director will implement the infrastructure and systems needed to support strategic objectives. He or she will be responsible for the oversight of administrative and financial systems, including finance, accounting, information technology, and treasury.

As a member of the senior management team, the Asia Finance Director will be involved in a range of strategic planning and internal initiatives supporting the General Manager on all business and strategic decision-making.

REPORT TO: CEO Asia

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsibility for overall financial management, including the review and approval of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting materials and metrics for the management and head office.
- Serving as a partner to the General Manager setting up the organization’s administrative and operational processes, with a goal of continuously developing and improving systems.
- Overseeing budget execution, financial forecasting, cash flow, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and month-end closing. Ensuring accurate account reconciliations and analysis.
- Responsible for treasury and cost control activities and ensuring proper payable and receivable execution. Keeping strict tax compliance and initiating effective taxation plans
- Ensure timely delivery of reliable and justified financial information in line with company’s standards, local statutory requirements and IFRS standards.
- Providing effective operational analysis and strategic recommendation for the company’s management and APAC management team.
- Working with management team in evaluation of company’s P&L performance. Responsible for identifying business trends and opportunities.
- Evaluating and improving information technology infrastructure, implementing new technologies to support key capabilities as required for future growth.
- Initiating strategic proposals for business growth, cost &expense control, productivity and profitability improvement. Providing leadership in budgeting and forecasting process.
- Closely working with management team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all inventory management, storage and distribution processes and investment. Initiating and monitoring action plans to improve cash flow performance.
- Taking necessary adjustment for polices and procedures to achieve rigorous implementation and an optimized control environment.
- Building up a strong finance team via effective coaching. Regular assessment and development communication with key team members.

PERSON SPECIFICATION (Essential Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills)

- Bachelor degree in Finance/Accounting/Commerce. ACCA/CPA/CMA or MBA is preferred.
- At least 10+ years Finance/ controlling working experience. Overseas education & work experience is preferred.
- Previous experience in Retail/ Fashion or Luxury goods is an advantage.
- Solid finance and accounting experience. Well-rounded technique skills in finance, accounting and taxation.
- Sound knowledge and implementation skills in internal control and Risk Management.
- Solid understanding of major factors which will directly result in an organization’s profitability.
- Computer literate. Familiar with today's major ERP system.
- Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
- Strong interpersonal communication skill and competent leadership style.
- Strong analytical, commercial thinking and highly sensitive to numbers.
- Proactive attitude to work and coordinate cross functionally and drive operational excellence within the company.
- Detail oriented and capable of pointing out key issues.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
